Dr. Jonathan Black, MD, MPH offers women care at the Center for Gynecologic Oncology in Miramar, Plantation, Hollywood, and Hialea, Florida. He brings extensive training in gynecologic oncology, minimally invasive and advanced pelvic surgery, personalized medicine, Sexuality, Intimacy, and Menopausal Symptoms (SIMS), and cancer genetics.
Dr. Black earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester where he also earned a Masters in Public Health (MPH). He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and fellowship in gynecologic oncology at Yale University.
Dr. Black has expertise with minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgeries, gynecologic cancers, complex gynecologic conditions (endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic pain, vulvar/vaginal issues, etc), conventional and personalized chemotherapy, and palliative care.
Dr. Black has over 50 publications in the field and has won many awards for his clinical and laboratory research in the field of Gynecologic Oncology, for his teaching of residents and medical students, and for his compassionate approach to care. He has also traveled on medical missions to Vietnam, Colombia, Thailand, Jamaica, and Uganda.
Dr. Black has a special interest in cancer genetics, early ovarian cancer detection and Sexuality, Intimacy and Menopause Symptoms (SIMS) in cancer survivorship.
